Empowered by the Holy Spirit, collectively and individually we strive to worship and pray, learn and teach; and by our words and acts of caring, encourage all people to be reconciled to God and to each other.
Before the children searched for the eggs hidden around the church and basement (the inclement weather prevented holding the egg hunt outside, unfortunately), they worked on a craft project. Many parents and grandparents assisted.
Look at all the candy!
Back at the tables, excited children emptied all their candy from the eggs. And there was an extra bag of more candy given to all, thanks to the many donations from the congregation.
Another craft project
The older kids did a more challenging craft project: colorful sequins were pinned onto a ribbon-trimmed styrofoam egg. Gorgeous! Thanks to all the mommies and grandmas who helped.
Smile! Janet and Melody pose for a quick picture
Janet Ott organized this year's Easter Party. Thirty-two children (we hope that's the correct number -- it was hard to count them as they bounced around -- ha ha) had a really good time. Janet planned age-appropriate craft projects and assigned other tasks to willing helpers.
Kay and Becky help create the paper lily cross
Oops, Sorry about the sideways picture! The paper lilies are actually outlines of hands folded over and stapled on the wood cross. The cross was placed at the altar, around which palm leaves were placed.

Prizes, Prizes, Prizes!
Lloyd Lee calls out numbers 1 through 32. Those who found a numbered egg waited their turn to pick a prize from the tables. Loretta helps her granddaughter pick out something. By the way, Loretta led a time of singing at the conclusion of the party while the children waited for their cue to lead the processional with their palms. Thank you Loretta, Lloyd, and everyone who helped.
