Empowered by the Holy Spirit, collectively and individually we strive to worship and pray, learn and teach; and by our words and acts of caring, encourage all people to be reconciled to God and to each other.

To Make Disciples of Jesus Christ

A 5th Sunday Service

Children's Moment with Keri Osswald:  Keri gives the children an example of how holding on to anger limits your happiness and keeps you from being able to fully experience things.  She gave each of the kids an inflated balloon, but while holding on to them, they couldn't do the hand motions of the song "Jesus Loves Me."  When they let go of the balloons (their "anger"), they could better join in the fun!

Fred Osswald reads scripture from Psalm 51:1-12

"Make me hear sounds of joy and gladness;  let the bones you crushed be happy again."  -- Psalm 51:8
As this was the 5th Sunday of the month, members of the congregation requested favorite hymns be sung.  Please see the e-vangelism page for the titles of hymns that were sung.

Yes, they're all related!   Keri and Fred are married to each other.  Fred & Lane are brothers.  On all 5th Sundays, our hymn singing fills the time normally scheduled for the pastor's sermon.

Sarah Barker and Curt Hugunin

Sarah is holding one of the t-shirts made for our YF, their friends, and their advisors and guests to wear while at the Acquire The Fire event next weekend.  Sarah prayed a blessing over the shirts, a gesture symbolic of our prayer that those attending be filled with God's Holy Spirit as they participate with thousands of others there.

Curt and Loretta Lee are our YF advisors.  Thank you both for your service!

Joanna Nerderman closes the service with a prayer

"O God, you have truly blessed us with the music that has filled our hearts today.  Let us remember you and the kindness you have showed us as we go into the world this week.  Grant us the strength to do your bidding and to teach others of your generosity and loving spirit.  Be with us, and guide us through the days until we will be back in your house, together again, where we can sing and praise your holy name.  AMEN!"
